of red fruit, crème brulee, cranberry and raspberry beckoning you to partake in the fruity
splendor. A soft entry with a round juicy midpalate leads to lush flavors of bright, juicy and
soft tannins making for a smooth, easy drinking, complex wine. This red blend is a modern
take on table wine that delivers packs of flavor in a smooth, food-friendly style.
“Donna Avida” translates to “Gold Digger” in Italian, a nod to our rich heritage in
California’s historic Gold Country. Winemaker, Emily Haines sought out the best lots that would
provide a layered and complex expression of this wine-growing region.
The Terra d’Oro 2016 Donna Avida Red Blend hails from Amador County, the heart of the Sierra
Foothills. The result is a stunning blend of Barbera, Petite Sirah, Zinfandel, Viognier and a touch of Aglianico.
The grapes for this wine are handpicked in small bins and fermented in stainless steel tanks.
After gentle pressing, the wine is aged in 20% new American oak barrels, which imparts toasty
characteristics in this wine.
