Bricco is a remarkable blend of bright and earthy flavors. At first sip, Bricco opens on the palate with a splash of young strawberries, and finishes with an elegant hint of smoked meats, and earthy truffles. Bricco has an inviting aroma of spicy oak enhanced by lush ripe fruit.
The Italians have a word for the finest hilltop vineyards: BRICCO. The Italians feel their very best fruit comes from their hilltop vineyards. Here at Terra d’Oro , we created this limited-release “Bricco” blend from fruit plucked from the very best blocks in our Amador County Vineyards. All three red varietals in this blend thrive in the very thin rocky soils in the Shenandoah Valley that enjoy great drainage along oak dotted hillsides.
Blend Composition: 68% Syrah , 18% Grenache, 14% Petite Sirah
Once picked, the fruit is collected in a combination of half ton bins that are hand punched down into stainless steel tanks that afford winemaking more control of the fermentation process. Creating a special blend like Bricco requires many months in French oak barrels. Bricco slept for 30 months in barrels before it was ready for our Club TdO Members.
Food Pairing Notes
This graceful red wine is a nod to traditional winemaking but with a radiant twist that pairs with marinated lamb kebobs, a zesty citrus quinoa salad, or a big plate of baked Ziti!
