Terra d'Oro Rosé 2016
The Terra d’Oro 2016 Rosé is a complex, yet refreshing, wine that radiates a gorgeous dark salmon hue in the glass. Intense aromas of sweet red fruit are framed by intriguing hints of floral and spice notes. The palate is bursting with spicy strawberry, balanced by subtle hints of ruby red grapefruit and violets.
The 2016 vintage in Amador County brought ideal conditions for growing flavorful Nebbiolo, the centerpiece of this exquisite Rosé. Welcome winter rains helped to alleviate drought conditions across the state. A long, even growing season followed, allowing the grapes to mature beautifully and create rich, ripe characteristics. The grapes were harvested on the early edge of ripeness to preserve the balance of fruit, savory, acid and mineral notes.
The Nebbiolo grape clusters were hand-picked early in the morning, then gently pressed. Minimal skin contact allowed a delicate pink color to be extracted before the juice was fermented in 100% stainless steel. The result is a crisp, medium-bodied and off-dry wine with deep flavor and versatility, perfect for a springtime afternoon.
Food Pairing Notes
